Help Us Pick the NEW Janet Gurtler Title!!!

Hey Bibliophiles,

We need your help, once again—this time to help choose a title for Janet Gurtler’s October release. You might recognize her name due to her forthcoming book I’m Not Her which was originally named The Weight of Bones and was one of the titles we took a vote on back in July! I’m Not Her is out May 2011 (more here!) and you can win the book by helping us pick the title for the new one!

About the Book:

Jasmine Evans knows one thing for sure… people make mistakes. After all, she is one--the result of a one-night stand between a black football player and a blonde princess. Having a young mother who didn't raise her and a father who wants nothing to do with her while living in a small-minded town hasn’t been easy. But she’s been surviving. Until she sees her mom’s new boyfriend making out with her own best friend...

With that in mind, we present you with some title options:

  • If I Tell
  • Where I Belong
  • Maybe It’s Just Me
  • The Truth About Secrets

Which resonates the most with you and why? Two commenters will receive an advance copy of Janet’s May release, I'm Not Her.

I like "If I Tell" the most. It is definitely the one I would have bought if I only knew what the titles to the books. And I think that it suits the book well. :)
I am going to go with 'If I Tell' because I think it really goes with the storyline. Though I haven't read the story I would assume there would be consequences to telling her mom or saying something to her friend, etc. All the things that might happen if she was to tell about what she saw...so that is why I think it goes best with the the blurb I read. Its also catchy and might make someone wonder what its about if they just see the front of the book and title.

I agree. If I Tell sounds like the best title given the information about the book.

I like the title... If I Tell. It comes across that she has a secret that could change everything. I think it probably expresses the fact that it's choice she has to make, a decision to tell could be good or bad, we don't know. Lends a bit of mystery of it.
I love If I Tell best but a close second was The Truth About Secrets.
I like "The Truth About Secrets" because so much in her life hasn't been the truth, and now she is faced with a secret.  What will she decide to do?

I like "Maybe It's Just Me"

This character has not gotten a lot of breaks and now this new issue is one more thing for her.  "If I tell" seems to focus on one issue, and it seems that this story has a wider range.  "Where I Belong" would be my second choice, and "The Truth About Secrets" sounds like something I've already read.

'If I Tell' is definitely my pick!!

I like "If I Tell..."  Speaks volumes!

Dottie :)

If I tell! It makes me want to read and find out all about the secret.
If I Tell sounds the most intriguing.  It makes you want to find out what she knows.
"Maybe It's Just Me", I feel like this would fit the overall theme of the book. Not only that, this title wouldn't give much away about the plot which would prompt people to pick it up to see what is was about, and possibly end up purchasing the book. :)
