Hello all!
I know you all love picking covers, and this time I'm really curious to see how it turns out! Some of you may already be familiar with the work of Leanna Rene Heiber, but if you're not, she hit the fantasy fiction scene with her novella "Dark Nest" which won the 2009 Prism Award for excellence in Futuristic, Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. Her debut novel, The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker, is the first in a series of ghostly, Gothic Victorian Fantasy novels and landed on Barnes & Noble's mass market and overall Bestseller List.
So, she's coming out with a new YA book called Magic Most Foul (November 2011) and we want your help picking out the cover! The book takes place in New York City, 1882. Seventeen-year-old Natalie Stewart cannot speak. Her latest obsession is a haunted painting her father, curator of the Met, wants to acquire. Every time she sees the portrait of 18-year-old Lord Denbury, something is different, something is calling to her.
Drawn literally into the magical world of the painting, Natalie speaks for the first time as she is inexorably drawn into a relationship with Denbury as they struggle to determine how to reverse the curse that imprisoned him. His soul is trapped by dark magic while his possessed body commits crimes in the underbelly of the city.
Below are the proposed covers. What do you think?
For your participation, we're rewarding five lucky winners with copies of the forthcoming novel Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach, which you also helped us pick (Cover #2!).
